Bio
Dr. Sara Kramers is a Postdoctoral Fellow in the School of Kinesiology at The University of British Columbia in Vancouver. Her research centres on coach learning, reflection, and action with broader aims to explore individuals’ lived experiences of identity, (in)equity, belonging, and career progression in sport. Her current research is focused on women’s coaching experiences in gendered competitive sport contexts using the participant-led method of digital storytelling. She is also exploring how social learning spaces and informal opportunities for mentorship may support women coaches navigate unique and shared experiences in competitive sport. Dr. Kramers uses participatory approaches to meaningfully involve knowledge users in the research process, as well as creative methods and narrative analyses for intentional knowledge mobilization. She has acted as a research consultant and collaborator on projects regarding the design, delivery, and evaluation of youth sport contexts and coach education systems at the local, provincial, and national level.
