Research Connection Day

When
November 12, 2025 from 9am to 5pm
Mountain Time (UTC-06:00)
Details
The Canadian Research for Mentoring Centre’s Research Connection Day is the first event of its kind and a wonderful opportunity to bring together researchers from across Canada with a common interest in mentoring research.

Our hope is for the day’s activities to foster new connections for future research projects, partnerships and/or grants.

We will start the day by sharing our findings from a recent scan of youth mentoring research from across Canada, have a networking lunch to build community, and host facilitated small group discussions pertaining to current themes identified in the literature, and future directions/opportunities for mentoring research and practice.

Themes

The current identified themes are as follows:

  • Mentoring Indigenous Youth

  • Mentoring for Black Youth

  • Mentoring for Youth in Sports

  • School-Based Mentoring

  • Youth-Initiated Mentoring

  • Mentoring Newcomer Youth

  • Mentoring for Youth with Disabilities

  • Development and Evaluation of Mentorship Programs

We will be using these theme-based small group discussions to identify areas for collaboration, and development of future team projects with a real possibility of shaping Canadian mentoring research and practice for the next 5-10 years.
